Glamour Assassins

Glamour Assassins? I can't agree with the name, their electronic jewels are surely for show and provide a glamorous accessory for nearly anyones playlist rather than killing it. Their recent singe 'Phantom of the Disco' features sci-fi like background melodies that offer a spacey feel, allowing you to zone out while the gloriously infectious oh-oh's fill your mind.

The vocals sound somehow not right for the track yet it is impossible for different ones to be pictured with the song. I like the way they almost make the song indecisive but still alluring, not many songs can hold such features yet still be an electric gem.

Perma F

Perma F are back with a new single; 'It's A War'. We reviewed the Swedish duo back in October (have a read here) and we were excited to find out they are back making more music to jam to.

The single release includes a remix of both 'It's A War' and 'Burning Angel', they are both all that you could want from a remix, loyal to the original but with an added foreign feel that sounds so good you have to keep listening to it over and over again.
Also included is 'Beautiful With Horns', a mix of rock and electronic sounds which work surprisingly well together. The end result is a rock song to party to, a track you can't help but move your body and sing along to. There's also an odd beauty to this song which draws you in and you can quite easily find yourself playing this on repeat as well, the heavier guitar gives it a hard edge which juxtaposes with the lighter electronic sounds, the mix of tones cook up a spectacular meal to feast on.
And on to the big act, 'Its A War', a song slightly more hardcore in comparison to the other tracks, the melodies mostly created by an electric guitar. Thats not to say no electronic sounds are included, they have just been given an edge which makes them feel heavier as if they are at war against something. This is a song to jam to and let out all the anger you've got so I would definitely recommend you have a listen.

Paper Penguin

Irish and Stylish is all I can say. Paper Penguin is unlike anything I've heard, in fact the Soundcloud page is filled to the brim with sounds which feel like a science experiment with only good outcomes. It is oddly beautiful and otherworldly, like how you would expect a visit from friendly aliens. Although I do hope Paper Penguin do eventually stop being the alluring alien and more people like this come out the woodwork to share their work.

I think my favorite two tracks are Level 22 and Glazed. Glazed feels like a party with a hint of sadness or rejection while Level 22 feels like a beautiful journey into an attractive something.

Glazed has an easy beat with electric tones which fill up your skull like water. It almost makes you shiver it feels so consuming. I'm in total love with it as it has the ability that everyone needs these days; the ability to remove your thoughts, even if it is just for 3 minutes and 12 seconds.

Level 22 feels like it has it's own beating heart, thoughts and pumping lungs. I know it sounds like I'm either high or insane but if you really listen to it, it has this very feel.. The different tempos, periodic sounds and the almost vibrating white noise preventing a daunting silence all make you feel like you're in a mind, listening to the sound of emotion and thought, moving and breathing.

If you want the best experience of the music, I think late evening when you can't get to sleep or something, when the song can start to tell your relaxed mind a story.
